Welcome to The Vanabond Tales!
More Than JUST A ROAD TRIP BLOG…
While we may travel by van right now, our site is more than just a road trip blog or a van life or camper van blog. Rather, our writing is primarily about slow and self-directed travel, and self-guided adventure.
We try to take the path less traveled, seeking out unique experiences, though we never shy away from a bucket list destination either.
Our travel style is budget-friendly, outdoor focused and environmentally conscious.
If some or all of that resonates with you, you are likely to find something of value in these pages and we invite you to wander with us, as we seek our next adventure.
We are the Vanabonds, these are our tales…
Meet the vanabonds
Out of a love for travel, we met one snowy Christmas night in Estonia. Eighteen months later, we quit our day jobs in search of a more nomadic life style. We set out to try our hand at overlanding in a converted van (#vanlife). We hope, through our wanderings, to inspire you, to travel, to explore and to get out there and experience the world. Thanks for wandering with us!

The Umbrawarra Gorge Nature Park is one of the hidden gems in the Northern Territory and one that should not be missed. Spend a tranquil afternoon basking at the beach under the red cliffs of the gorge, viewing the Aboriginal art nearby, and camping under the stars at the small camping area.
